Natural Campsites

Do you own or manage a campsite in a natural setting? Does your site offer peace and tranquillity in combination with modern sanitary facilities? Or perhaps you are planning to open this type of leisure accommodation. Contact De Groene Koepel to enquire whether your site is eligible for accreditation as a Natural Campsite (Natuurkampeerterrein).

There are currently 134 Natural Campsites (Natuurkampeerterreinen) in the Netherlands and a further 11 in France and 1 in Belgium. Anyone wishing to stay on any of these sites must obtain a Natural Campsite Pass (Natuurkampeerkaart), which is enclosed with The Green Guide (Het Groene Boekje) publication but also available separately. For the visitor, the Pass is a guarantee of quality. For the site owner, it is a guarantee that the holder has a genuine interest in nature and will treat the area with respect.

De Groene Koepel is dedicated to maintaining and expanding the network of Natural Campsites. We safeguard the quality of sites by means of an accreditation system based on regular inspection visits.

Campsite operators can apply for accreditation, which offers several advantages:

• Your accredited Natural Campsite will form part of a unique network of attractive, small-scale facilities which offer visitors the opportunity to enjoy the peace and quiet of the great outdoors.
• Details of your site will appear in the Green Guide, some 50,000 copies of which are sold every year.
• Your site will be listed on the Natural Campsite website and the Kamperen mobile phone app.
• Your site will automatically be included in De Groene Koepel’s extensive marketing and promotion activities, which include stands at exhibitions and public events, media advertising, online advertising, a presence on various collective websites, several social media channels, and frequent publicity campaigns to bring the Natural Campsites to the attention of their target group.
• De Groene Koepel represents the outdoor leisure sector in discussions with various public authorities.
• We organize an annual conference at which you will have the opportunity to meet and exchange ideas with other site operators.
• We provide information and advice about a broad range of relevant topics.
• And, not unimportantly, you will be joining an organization which cares for its network and works on your behalf with great enthusiasm!
